Beyond practical strategies, in many cases it is helpful also to work through one’s emotional and psychological responses that give rise to relationship difficulties, via psychodynamic therapy. Sometimes relationship difficulties may have their origins deep in one’s history, and it might be fruitful explore how this is so and how the past may be alive in the present, to provide an opportunity for mastery of the problems.

In addition, an individual’s relationship issues may impact on, or be impacted by, one’s psychological health, such as depression, anxiety, psychological trauma, and substance use issues. In these cases, Anthony may help the individual work through these difficulties using the appropriate evidence-based approach.
